Our Speakeasy Lijiang summer camp runs from July to August, and our winter camp runs from February to March. These month long programs include a mix of small group classes (no more than 10 people) and private one-on-one lessons. The course will cover both conversational spoken Chinese and intensive HSK preparation.

This month-long program gives you the opportunity to study Chinese while touring the beautiful Lijiang, Yunnan province. Just as the course material will be tailored to your needs, so the travel itinerary will likewise be created especially for you. We can help you to arrange trips to nearby Dali, Kunming, Shangri-La, Lugu Lake, and the Stone Forest. And within Lijiang, we can take you: on shopping expeditions in the Old Town, where you can practice bartering in Chinese with local merchants; to restaurants and markets, where you can sample Yunnan cuisine or partake of a tea ceremony; to the cinema, where you can watch a Chinese film or an American movie with Chinese subtitles; to a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic, where you can learn about healing herbs and roots or get a traditional massage or acupuncture treatment; to the Lijiang Impression show, where you can learn about the indigenous minority cultures; and to the mountains, where you can go hiking or bathe in a hot spring. The cost of the program includes tuition, transportation, entrance fees, accommodation, and food. Everything will be taken care of so that you can focus on enjoying your time in Yunnan and improving your Chinese.

My extensive experience with foreigners over the last nine years has not only been a complement to my studies, but also an exceptional insight into western culture. I maintain a high standard of integrity and loyalty, furthermore, I find personal fulfillment in assisting others in realizing their potential.

Since 2007 I have been a language teacher, translator and consultant. Besides speaking fluent Mandarin Chinese, English, and Thai, I speak Chinese minority languages Pumi and Mosuo.

I majored in English when I was in college at International Studies University, which is one of the top language schools in China. I lived in America for a year as an exchange student at Rowan University in New Jersey. It opened up my eyes and my mind and awakened my traveling genes. I’m well traveled in China and ready for exploring the world. I’m a member on Couchsurfing, which enables me to meet people from all over the world and learning about their countries, their people and their cultures.

I worked as an English teacher for almost six years at my Alma Mater, which gave me first hand teaching experience and since last year I’ve been teaching foreigners Chinese. All the former experience made it easier for me to understand second language teaching better. Also, personally, I love the Chinese art and culture. I practice calligraphy and enjoy reading ancient Chinese literature.
